Thank You, God

Lent is all about this scripture:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

It is so clear that we have so much for which to be thankful to God. Everything we have is because of God’s love for us. He is so good to us. What would life be like if we didn’t have God’s love, blessings, and care to watch over us? How difficult would our lives be if we did not know that God holds us in his hands and provides us with His light to lead us through the darkness and provide hope for the marvelous eternal life he has promised? What if God had not created this amazing world we live in with beautiful flowers, gorgeous trees, wonderful animals like bears, dogs, deer, birds, and fish? He created the moon, and the stars, and the warmth of the sun. He created the mountains, waterfalls, rivers, tree-lined creeks, and the oceans. He gave us food and water and the ability to create wonderful tools, machines, buildings, music, and art. He created all these things out of his boundless, unconditional love for us.

For this is why we constantly thank God, because when you received the word of God that you heard for us, you welcomed it not as a human message, but as it truly is, the word of God, which also works effectively in you who believe. (1 Thessalonians 2: 13)

In the moments of turmoil,

In the hours of trial,

In the midst of any circumstances, you can thank God.

 

Thank Him for His Son.

Thank Him for His forgiveness.

Thank Him for overlooking your weakness.

Thank Him for the promise of eternal life.

 

Thank God for the opportunity

        to be a blessing to others,

        to be a friend to the friendless,

        to encourage those who have lost hope, and

        to cheer up those who are downcast.

 

You can make a difference.

You can be on the Lord’s side.

You can be a blessing to someone!

Be thankful to God for that.

If you love music and harmony, you will love these, too. They are giving glory to God for his many gifts to us.
